When open Pinnacle Studio to edit the JVC MOD files, you may come across problems, such as only hear the sound, but there is no image. For example:

"I have a lot of videos in a .MOD format from our clients' JVC Everio camcorder. When I push the "Import Video" button in Pinnacle it says "the file is not a supported file type and it cannot be imported", but I only have Pinnacle to edit them. I think I need help!"

JVC Everio camcorders including JVC GZ-MS120, GZ-E100, GZ-E300,GZ-E250,GZ-E210.etc offer full HD image quality, provide most people with everything they need from a high-definition camcorder. The .MOD file format is, obviously, a proprietary file format that JVC has engineered to help their camcorders function with their Direct to Disk/Share Station product.

As JVC has mentioned, the supplied software (Cyberlink PowerDirector 5, PowerCinema and PowerProducer) will do all your basic functions, including convert your .MOD files to DV-AVI files which are compatible in nearly all video editing software packages. But, the challenge, as you have found, is to use the native .MOD files in Pinnacle or other video editing. This article will teach you how to import JVC MOD videos to Pinnacle Studio smoothly.

The good news is that I think it is easy for you to find a post-production workflow that's much more what you expected when you got a powerful third party program.
